EGYPTIAN GODS (DIETIES)

Ancient Egypt had by tradition a great variety and abundance of gods and goddesses that are commonly known today as "spirits" and "fairies". The total sum is estimated at over 2,000, however, many of them had similar characteristics and appeared in different locales by different names. The huge diversity is due to the fact that before the country was united, the Nile Valley was divided into approximately forty self ruling areas (later to be provinces or nomes) where the ruling tribe had its own deities.

THE GODDESSES:
Bastet BASTET (BAST): The Ancient Egyptian lioness Goddess of fire, cats, of the home, and pregnant women.
Hathor HATHOR: The horned cow-goddess of love, happiness, dance and music, and a protector of women.

Isis ISIS: The beneficial goddess and mother whose love encompassed every living creature
THE GODS:
Amon - The Hidden One AMON (AMEN, AMEN-RA, AMUN): The Theban king of the gods and 'that which is hidden'.
Anubis ANUBIS: The god of embalming and mummification. He was depicted as a black colored jackal (or dog) or a man with the head of a black jackal or dog.

Horus HORUS: One of the most important Egyptian gods, a sun-god represented as a falcon or with the head of a hawk, whose right eye was the sun and whose left eye was the moon.
Osiris OSIRIS: The Egyptian God of the Dead.
Thoth THOTH: The Egyptian ibis-headed god of writing, wisdom and learning.

My beloved Divine Mother
  Dance with me
    under the soft moon shining
    in the wide open fields
far beyond the toil and trouble
      of my busy mind
